My Journey as a Software Engineer
I’m Abderazak Amiar, born in August 1990 in Bouzeguene, a charming town at the foot of the Djurdjura mountains. My journey into technology began early — in 2001, at the age of 11, I earned my first certificate in computer automation with Microsoft Works Suite. That moment sparked my lifelong passion for computer science.
After obtaining my Baccalaureate in Natural Sciences (2009), I pursued mathematics and computer science at the University of Mouloud Mammeri, Tizi Ouzou. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (2014), where I built my first real-world project: a real estate management web app using PHP, MySQL, and JavaScript. Later, I completed a Master’s degree in Information Systems Engineering (2016) with honors, developing a medical office appointment management system that applied RESTful architecture to connect Android, web, and API services.
My professional journey has been diverse and rewarding. In 2017, I taught web development at a private school in Tizi Ouzou, before starting my career as a Junior Software Engineer at Makane Consulting in Algiers. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, I transitioned to remote work, collaborating with International Business Associates LLC (Texas, USA) on a car auctions platform for two years.
In 2023, I joined Kepler Technologies, a well-known FinTech & ICT company recognized as one of the Best Places to Work in Algeria and Africa, as a Senior Full-Stack JavaScript Engineer. Today, I continue my journey as a self-employed software engineer, helping clients and companies solve challenging technical problems.
Beyond my career, I am passionate about music — I play piano — as well as football. I also enjoy jogging, seeking inspiration in the desert, and hiking in the mountains where fresh air and creativity go hand in hand.
My long-term dream is to lead a Software Engineering & AI company, building solutions that tackle complex problems and create meaningful impact.
